Born of immigrant parents* in Hoboken New Jersey, young Art first found his inspiration for design from the discarded Bazooka Joe bubblegum wrappers that littered the streets of his neighborhood. Art was amazed at how such small type could generate such emotion. After dabbling with sketches of "Tippy" the turtle, Art was accepted to Bayonne Community College where he earned an associate degree in metaphysical philosophy. After searching for two years in the public sector for a metaphysical philosophy job, Art mistakenly enrolled at the Newark School of Design (he thought the application was for New York School of Design) where he earned a B.A. in design. Art has worked for six years at the design firm of Phorm Over Phunction and currently holds the title of lead designer. Art has the distinction of being the only designer to have his work listed five years in a row on Sid Cato's annual report list (unfortunately, it has been the "10 Worst" list). When asked why he is participating in see see eyeland's Annual Report Survivor Game, Art replied "To prove to the world that my designs would be loved and in the Louvre were it not for those je ne sais quoi clients." Art spends most of his free time with his pet tortoise, "Tippy," who reminds him that good design must not be hurried.
* Art's parents are Czech. Art changed his name to Deqeaux to sound French – you know, more designer-like.
