Online Auction Benefitting the Hamilton Family

Scott as James Bond

Who is Scott Hamilton?

Scott “Not-the-Ice-Skater” Hamilton is husband to Laurie and father of Alexis and Jared. He’s a die-hard Bulldog fan, even though he didn’t graduate from Georgia. He attended the school, and claims to have been a Social and Leisure Activities major. His blood runs red and black. Scott is also an Account Supervisor with see see eye, a graphic design and communications firm here in Atlanta, where he’s worked since 1999. That’s where we come in.

Who are we?

We’re Scott’s coworkers at see see eye. Most of us have worked with him for at least a few years. Long enough to appreciate what kind of a person he is, enjoy working with him and tolerate his corny sense of humor. Before joining see see eye, Scott was our account rep at a local printing company. It was through that relationship that we first understood what a do-the-right-thing kind of guy Scott is. Working with him for the last seven years hasn’t changed that – although he would probably say he’s tried.

Why are we holding a benefit auction?

In June of this year, Scott suffered a stroke as a result of a collapsed artery. At only 42 years old and in otherwise good shape it was the last thing any of us expected. Things most of us take for granted were gone in an instant: the ability to verbalize thoughts, walk, read, write, finer control of his hands. These are the “tools” with which Scott worked every day. Though he’s made excellent progress in his physical therapy, this is going to be a long road.

When people heard about Scott’s stroke, there was collective shock and an outpouring of help and support. Big companies that we work for and whose accounts Scott handles came forth with donations. Our company gave. We gave our money and our time.

Now here we are some five months later and Scott – the primary bread-winner in his family – is still unable to work. We don’t know how much longer it will be before he can come back. We wanted to do more to help, but recently realized that the Hamiltons’ needs go beyond what we alone can do.

As a design firm, we have connections to some very creative people. When we approached them with our plan every one of them offered to help. The posters you see here have been graciously donated by Neenah Paper with no strings attached. All of the proceeds from their sale will go to the Hamiltons. We hope that you will see things you like, bid generously and win a poster that will grace your space for years to come.

Thanks for perusing our collection and for letting us share Scott’s story with you.
